Although many think gipsies came from India, history shows they formed as a unique group in Persia and the Roman Empire. The Eastern branch grew in Persia, while the Western branch developed in the Roman world. Over centuries, these groups migrated and blended with different cultures, leading to the great diversity among gipsy communities today.
