"Sea gipsies" are communities who live almost entirely on water, using boats and rafts as homes. Found in Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines, they rarely go ashore except for supplies. Though not related to Roma gipsies, their seafaring lifestyle and independence reflect the adventurous spirit of nomadic people everywhere.
