Before the lions would show the photographer their actual natural states, photographer Alexander Braczkowski had to train them to tolerate the drones for several months.

Cretaceous sandstones and siltstones make up the mountains themselves. The photo's vivid hues are caused by iron and trace mineral deposits found in the stones, which were deposited prior to the formation of the mountains.
